Animal Bites

• If you have been involved in an animal bite or scratch and it has bled, it is recommended that you do the following:

• The area needs to be washed with soap and water.

• You need to be sure that you have a current tetanus shot.

• If the bite is severe, see a physician.

• Report the bite:

  • If you live inside the city limits of Houston call (713) 229-7300

  • If you live in Harris County call us at (281)999-3191 and fill out the                     Animal Bite Reporting Form

  • If you live in one of the following communities, report the bite to your local animal control agency.
