Chronic Disease Prevention
The Chronic Disease Prevention Program is part of Nutrition & WIC
Services and contains several components.
The first component consists of group screening services,
including cholesterol and BMI screening and
counseling and health risk appraisal administration and scoring.
Health education services are offered at health fairs and other
community events. Registered Dieticians conduct community
presentations and classes.
In addition, the program provides technical assistance in the
development of worksite and community health promotion programs and
maintains updated community resource lists for diabetes, weight
control, and physical activity.
