“Promote Health
for All Through a Healthy Environment!”
Healthy Places /
Healthy Environment is housed within the Health Education & Promotion Division. The vision for
Healthy Places / Healthy Environments is to reduce
health disparities by employing a strategic approach to
bring the built environment into public health. Through
this effort we can promote health for all through a
healthy environment. The promotion of health is a
shared responsibility of individuals, communities,
public health agencies and local authorities.
The Healthy Places /
Healthy Environment program has identified the following
public health goals that are needed for all residents of
Harris County to live healthy, productive lives.
