Built Environment
As we embark into the
21st century, the interaction between people and their
environments, natural as well as human-made, continues to
emerge as a major issue concerning public health.
Certain characteristics of a built environment can promote
and support healthy behaviors that prevent injury and
chronic disease. It is the goal of Healthy Places / Healthy
Environment Program to initiate activities aimed at
promoting a built environment that supports healthy
behaviors.
